Sludge Dryer

Sludges generated from waste water treatment systems, after filter pressing, can contain up to 75% water. Plating, etching, chemical milling, and other wet chemical processes generate sludges often containing hazardous materials which make disposal expensive. Drying the sludge removes the water, reducing its volume and weight, thereby significantly reducing disposal costs.

Operating Principles:
A batch of sludge is dumped into the dryer. After closing the cover, heat (steam, hot water, electric, or gas) is indirectly applied, drying off moisture. Rotating auger screws mix the sludge for maximum moisture release and uniform consistency. Granular material is discharged when the batch is dry.

Features and Benefits:
Dryer reduces sludge volume up to 75% for dramatic savings on RCRA disposal costs.
Patented design requires little added floor space -- dryer fits beneath filter press.
No sludge handling -- avoids exposure to dangerous hazardous wastes.
Efficient steam, gas, or electric versions available for lowest energy costs.
Single-button, cycle-start control means simple operation and minimal operator attention.
Automatic temperature control -- separate feedback loop prevents potentially hazardous overtemp conditions.
Positive airflow pattern for efficient moisture removal and dust control.
Built for long life -- rugged, durable, watertight design with all-stainless-steel construction of wetted parts.
Positive chain drive and sealed shafts -- advanced ribbon-screw auger construction combines mixing and conveying functions
